Heat
pumps are reverse cycle air conditioners, which means they
can heat in winter and cool in summer. The heat pump is very
smart because it extracts "free heat" from the air
outside. This makes them three times more efficient and very
cost effective. A typical heat pump comprises an indoor unit
and an outdoor unit, is thermostatically controlled and has
a timer. Most are operated by a remote control, which gives
you total control over your indoor climate. Depending on your
choice of heat pump, the indoor unit may be mounted high on
the wall, low on the wall or floor mounted. Alternatively
you can have a ducted system or a multi split system.

Are
mostly fixed fan heaters, "fixed" because they are
direct wired back to your metre box. They are cheaper to buy
than a heat pump but are much more expensive to run. They are
still a very convenient, instant form of heating. They basically
come in two types:fan-boosted convection (blowing warm air)
and radiant/convection (which have a visible element). |

Panels
are slim convection heaters, which means that they have an interior
heating element, this heats air which gently rises, giving a
warm stream of softly moving air. Usually wall mounted just
above the skirting boards and controlled by thermostats so your
room maintains the heat you want. Small, silent, economical
to install and run. |

These
are electric heaters that simulate the look of log fires and
coal fires, but with the convenience of instant, predictable,
clean electricity. They come in many different models and styles
and are ideal to curl up in front of during cold winter nights. |
