Heat Pumps
Heat pumps are reverse cycle air conditioners, which means they can heat in winter and cool in summer. The heat pump is very smart because it extracts "free heat" from the air outside. This makes them three times more efficient and very cost effective. A typical heat pump comprises an indoor unit and an outdoor unit, is thermostatically controlled and has a timer. Most are operated by a remote control, which gives you total control over your indoor climate. Depending on your choice of heat pump, the indoor unit may be mounted high on the wall, low on the wall or floor mounted. Alternatively you can have a ducted system or a multi split system.
Ducted Systems
Ducted systems provide air conditioned comfort to new and existing homes. The unobtrusive and extremely quiet compressor unit is installed outside the home. The indoor unit is usually located
in the ceiling or under the floor with flexible ductwork distributing conditioned air through vents located throughout the house. Ducted systems can be designed to operate in two or more zones
which can be heated or cooled at different times.
Multi-Split System
A multi split system can heat or cool from two to nine rooms using one outdoor unit and a combination of different indoor units. Multi split systems are ideal for situations where there is limited space for outdoor units or insufficient under floor or ceiling space for ducting. A multi split system allows individual control in each room. This not only optimises comfort but also saves on running costs,
as you only heat or cool the rooms you need.
